As a way of celebrating the spirit of ecumenism on our Church Calendar, we welcome The Rev. Lisa Kemper of the Loudoun Unitarian-Universalist Congregation to be with us… and Don will be visiting the Loudoun UU. The context of Luke 4:21-30 is the story of what happened following Jesus’ mission statement… and along with 1 Corinthians 13 offers us some meaningful insights about how we deal with some of the radical demands of pursuing all that Jesus was about… and Lisa will be sharing words around a theme of “Saving Ourselves, Saving Each Other.” You’ll be both enlightened and challenged!
Reverend Elizabeth “Lisa” Kemper is an artist and an activist, with a slight tendency toward rabble-rousing, but ultimately, she seeks to find the points of connection in life. She is particularly interested in studying the intersection of the Arts, Theology and Healing, as well as the ways in which our personal quest for wholeness and healing can contribute to the re-membering of the world. Embodiment, sustainable living, eco-feminism, Jungian archetypes, mysticism and all kinds of poetry are just a few of the things that whet her considerable appetite for new information and reflection. She is committed to the dynamic and life-changing potential of Unitarian Universalism, and feels truly blessed to be able to serve our faith in a professional capacity…
